Nuts & Bolts of My Practice

  • Insurance and Rates

I am an Out Of Network provider. This means that I am not an in-network provider for insurance companies at this time. I will provide you with a “Superbill” that can be submitted for reimbursement to your insurance company. Insurance companies vary in whether and how much they reimburse, I encourage you to contact your insurance company, ask them about your out of network benegits, your deductivle, copay and amount you will be reimbursed.

I offer free initial consultation for clients to determine if I am a good match. Initial assessment and subsequent 50 minute sessions are $175 each, payable when delivered.

I accept payment via credit/debit/HSA card stored in the patient portal. If this does not work for you as an option, please let me know and we can discuss other methods of payment.

  • Where and how do you see clients?

I am licensed in DC and Maryland.

I provide telehealth services to people when they are physically located in either D.C. or Maryland. If you are traveling to another location I cannot provide services to you.

I provide in person services in NW Washington D.C., in the neighborhood of Petworth.

I’m happy to provide a mix of in person and telehealth services to clients!

  • Immigration Evaluations

Immigration evaluations consist of one to two sessions (total time between 2-3 hours) and preparation of an evaluation report to be given to the lawyer to include as evidence in the case.

Fees are posted in the Immigration Evaluation page

Clients who require a pro-bono immigration evaluation can be referred to Physicians For Human Rights asylee program by their attorney.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

In the event that you need to cancel an appointment, please let me know as far in advance as possible, but at least 48 hours ahead. Because the appointment time has been reserved specifically for you, I will charge for appointments which are not cancelled 48 hours in advance. I will work with you to find another available time to reschedule the appointment during the same week of the originally scheduled appointment. Most insurance companies do not reimburse for missed sessions.

  • Good Faith Estimate

Notice to clients and prospective clients regarding a Good Faith Estimate. Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate, or visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
